I'm having the same problem while trying to install libext2fs-devel (used for tarsnap).
Is it wise to copy the relevant files from the relevant Debian package:
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/e2fslibs-dev
@PapaBear, what do you mean by "open an online tech support case"? Would Netgear be willing to assist with this? (Are those packages maintained by Netgear?)
