Not unless they were a download from the Netgear site. If they are regular Linux packages, I am not sure they will run on a ReadyNAS, because while it uses Linux as the base OS, it is modified. There could be calls in the application that are not supported.
What I was referring to contacting tech support is if you do not have a current and complete backup of the data before you loaded the package (and we all know that we should have such a backup), then they may be able access the NAS remoted and undo the package so the NAS will return to the operating status. If your NAS is accessible, but there are operating problems, then do a backup and then a factory default which wipes the discs. You can then set the NAS up again and then restore the data.
If you have a current and complete backup, this opens up the option of doing a factory reset without having to involve tech support.
BTW - I am not a Linux user, so cannot help in any of the technical aspects.
