What does upgrading RAIDiator on NV+ do to LMS 7.7.2

I am using LMS 7.7.2 installed on a ReadyNAS NV+. Last week, Netgear announced a new version of the RAIDiator (4.1.10) firmware. I am wondering what would happen if I install the new firmware.

Until 7.7.1, LMS installed as a Streaming Service. As of 7.7.2, LMS installs as an Add-on Service.

I spent a lot of time getting my old LMS 7.7.1 completely removed as a streaming service and get LMS 7.7.2 installed as an add-on service. At some point in time, I even had them both as a streaming service and an add-on service. I like to be absolutely sure that installing the latest RAIDiator will not take me back to where I don't want to go anymore.

Maybe it would be best if LMS (Squeezecenter) would be completely taken out of RAIDiator.

Many thanks for any help or sharing any experiences on this.

  • I upgraded my NV+ with RAIDiator 4.1.10 , and can confirm that LMS 7.7.2 continues to be installed as an Add-on only (not listed under Streaming Services).

Just wanted to share this with anyone interested.

Yes, it should no longer be an issue. LMS is not included with the base firmware any more, and is only available as an addon in order to eliminate any conflicts in the future.
