What is the max password length in Frontview?

I am having issues with long passwords in Frontview.

What is the maximum length for the password when an user changes his/her password using the Frontview webpage?

I haven't seen this documented, but I have seen posts from someone who is successfully using 16 character passwords.

I try 30 character passwords, it can normal operation.
  • Really? 30 characters?
I am having problems with specifying long passwords of say more then 15, 16.
You are able to specify them alright, but when you try to change your password using the Frontview password tab, the password is not recognized.
I suspect that anything longer then the maximum allowed length is discarded when specifying a long password.
So far, so good. Until you actualy try to change a long password.
Then the typed-in password is not equal to the stored truncated password.
At least, that is what I suspect that happens.

  • Remember that each protocol also has its own limitations.

Just changing admin password and trying FrontView is different than using CIFS,FTP,etc.
