Why upgrade to OS6?
Sorry if this is a silly question but there are so many threads to read and I haven't come across a simple summarisation regards the benefits of upgrading to OS6. I have an ultra 4 plus that I use ...

I think you will find that OS6 is somewhat slower than OS4 on your ultra, especially on disk writes. btrfs is focused more on data safety than on highest performance.
What performance are you seeing on the ultra?
If they were to bring in a 400 series I'd probably move to that now rather than try the upgrade. Incidentally I don't need to upgrade but upgradeitis sets in :lol:
Speeds I get using 5200 RPM HDDs hardwired for 10-15gb MKV files is about 30-45MB. some files can transfer upto 60-70MB. Not scientific I know.
But the speeds haven't affected me or the streaming I have to admit
