Windows 7 connection over VPN
Hi there,
I've just run into a problem! I've got a new Windows 7 machine at home, I've just set up the necessary VPN connections to my office (Windows SBS Server 2008 VPN) and I'm having trouble accessing our ReadyNAS in the office.
The drive is set with domain authentication.
When I try to reach the drive, either via its IP address on the network, or its file path (\\share), Windows tells me the credentials are incorrect. This can't be the case as I used them to connect to the VPN in the first place!
Drive responds to a ping.
I can access the shares directly on the server box (Netlogon and such), again proving that my credentials are correct.
It still works fine on my old Windows XP machine.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Martyn

- Martyn_HoyerAspirantJust tried the exact process again on my home laptop, which runs Vista, and everything is fine, which suggests it's definitely something specific with Windows 7.
Becoming a pain, some help would be appreciated! - ewokNETGEAR ExpertAre you having any issues accessing the share over the LAN with a Win7 box?
- Martyn_HoyerAspirantNo, we've got a couple of Win7 laptops in the office, both of which can access the drive over the LAN without any problems.
- akaklusterAspiranthi there, I've got the same problem with a readynas 2100.
I'm connected over VPN to the office, the nas credentials are AD's, I'm on win7 laptop and the only valid credentials are those of the admin.
any other domain credentials won't work. - johnnyfreud786AspirantYou can establish vpn connection in by two ways first one is from outgoing which is setting up a remote computer to call into the office network and second way called incoming occurs on the network side where a computer allows secure connections from other computers. Establishing a window 7 vpn connection is a very easy process you can read the manual too.
