Windows 7 IE9 ReadyNAS Security Certificate

I have suddenly got same message in IE( Windows)

It has been woking fine for months until I tried to log in yesterday

It says the certificate is for 192.168.1.112 but my Duo is on 117

Perhaps it used to be on 112?

You could be correct.

Would I have to change my Duo back to 112 & if so, how would I do this please.

Frontview will let you re-build the certificate for 117 (this is on the service\standard file protocols menu. Under https there is a "generate new key".

Some routers will let you make a DHCP reservation (Newer Netgear routers all do that). If your router supports that, you can create a reservation for the NAS that specifies 112.

Another option is to use firefox, and simply add a security exception for the NAS (and leave the certificate alone). That is what I do. I am not sure how/if you do that with IE9. \\

Of course you can also just click-through the warning.

To easy way to cure this would be to add the 'site' to the trusted sites list in IE9 security. This will eliminate the error you are receiving. This is normal because the certificate is a self signed certificate, and browsers mark this as a security threat.

Are there clear instructions on how to do this? Is there a NetGear ReadyNAS support document on how to add your ReadyNAS to IE9?

1, When do I create a certificate?
2, When and how do I add this site to the trusted IE9 site?
I've added https://192.168.0.15/ to my trusted IE9 Zone but it still get the “There is a problem with this website's security certificate.”

This is how I added the ReadyNAS to IE9 Trusted Zone:
Select: IE9 > Tools > Internet Options > Security >
Select: Trusted sites > Sites (https://192.168.0.15/)> Add > Close > OK

Have I forgotten to do something?

Here is the process in which I have found works with Internet Explorer
- Browse to the site whose certificate you want to trust.
- When told "There is a problem with this website's security certificate.", choose "Continue to this website (not recommended)."
- Select Tools->Internet Options.
- Select Security->Trusted sites->Sites.
- Confirm the URL matches, and click "Add" then "Close".
- Close the "Internet Options" dialog box with either "OK" or "Cancel".
- Refresh the current page.
- When told "There is a problem with this website's security certificate.", choose "Continue to this website (not recommended)."
- Click on "Certificate Error" at the right of the address bar and select "View certificates".
- Click on "Install Certificate...", then in the wizard, click "Next".
- On the next page select "Place all certificates in the following store".
- Click "Browse", select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities", and click "OK".
- Back in the wizard, click "Next", then "Finish".
- If you get a "Security Warning" message box, click "Yes".
- Dismiss the message box with "OK".
- Select Tools->Internet Options.
- Select Security->Trusted sites->Sites.
- Select the URL you just added, click "Remove", then "Close".
- Now shut down all running instances of IE, and start up IE again.
- The site's certificate should now be trusted.

Give it a try and let me know if it works for you too.

Your clear instructions worked a treat. I can now view my ReadyNAS Frontview without IE9 complaining about Security Certificates.

Q, Your instructions:

When I entered the URL: http://192.168.0.15 into the IE9 address bar I was directed to http://192.168.0.15/shares/ The ReadyNAS Frontview Shares tab was highlighted and displayed a message: No shares currently accessible. What does this mean and should I have tried to use IE9 to Browse to the ReadyNAS Frontview or did you mean another menthod? I used the RAIDar and selected Setup to direct me to the correct URL: http://192.168.0.15/admin/
