windows 7 will only access shares with media player

I looked through the faqs and didn't see anything similar to my issue, I hope someone can help. This is probably a windows issue, not a NAS issue.
I've got two ready nas boxes on my home network. I've got 2 windows 7 home computers on the network, both computers are in the same home network. When I access the shares on one computer it displays them as media devices and storage. Media will only access the shares through media player, storage opens up a browser for administrative access.
My other computer, identically configured (I believe) shows the shares as media, storage, and computer. In the computer vies I have full access to the folders to view, copy, etc. I can't find any difference in the configuration of the two computers. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

  • Problem is solved. I did find a windows setting difference between my computers. I needed to set the advanced sharing to uncheck the windows default, allowing the computers to connect using passwords.
