Windows 8.1 can't see NAS

That's interesting I am having the same issue with my windows 8.1 machines.
net view \\<host> often shows nothing using IP address works fine...
All machines (and NAS) are in same workgroup.
I am currently running 6.1.6RC10
And I have done an apt-get update apt-get upgrade and rebooted several times.
Not sure what to do at this point, isn't a name resolution thing, seems like a netBIOS/Samba/nm thing
