What is the highest version of Zerotier you can install on a Readynas 104 or 214 I have 1.6.6 running on both just wondered if its worth updating and which version to

I had ReadyNAS 214, quite idle for few years.
Just to realize that Readycloud is now disabled/not supported.
I also tried uploading the zerotier, but the READYNAS admin page -> Apps -> Upload is not allowing me to upload any file.
It would help a lot if anyone can guide me through.

First you need to downgrade the firmware to 6.10.9
You can prevent the NAS from prompting you about updating again by changing the settings in system->settings->update.
Then you will need to modify the apt configuration as described here:
Posts 1 and 37 are particularly relevant.
Another option is to use a VPN in your router. Netgear Nighthawks and Orbis both have this feature.
