acutally i cant send logging over email using a mail-server without username and password.
in many environments there is an smtp in management lan without authentification.
this should be enabled as its an easy change for devs.
also i dont get an useful error message after loggin email test fails.
thats very bad.
also all logging is very rare and bad

It's a bad habit to operate open SMTP relays in any environment. This does open doors to abuse or bad user ideas. Can't be difficult to configure the required authentication...
I agree, that i would not configure this.
But this service is external so i cant change configuration nor provider.
Anyway its behind VPN.
