Password Reset with physical access

Just wanted to put this in as a formal request after speaking with support.  On this switch, and apparently almost all others in the current lineup, if you lose your password, you're out of luck.  The only option to gain access is a factory reset.  This of course wipes the config as well.

 

As anyone working in SOHO IT can tell you, it's very common to find a business going through multiple IT vendors/employees.  So it's quite common to find a piece of equipment, have physical access to it, and have a need to reset the password.  And in many cases, the configuration might ONLY be documented on the device itself.  Reseting could lead to downtime as the new IT folks figure out what the config was.

 

Can Netgear consider some option (like "hold normal reset button for X seconds") to reset only the password?
