Ability to import VPN Provider Profiles (ie ExpressVPN, Nord VPN, etc)

It would be nice if Netgear actually had an option to use the roters as a VPN client like ASUS allows, with the ability to import profiles from VPN providers like ExpressVPN, Nord VPN and others. Also the ability to bypass VPN for certain devices would also be nice. ASUS routers with similar CPUs & WiFi chipsets offer this on their routers which are also priced lower. If you are going to charge premium prices over your competitors features like this shoud be there.

  • This is absolutely needed . If its not added I will have to look at Asus to provide my router needs as security is so important now a days.

  • The need for VPN support in important. Netgear currently supports ExpressVPN and others on the RX7000 series, but not the RX8000. While I can appreciate the fact that you support opensource VPN access, that infers the user has the technical skill to navigate opensource and they trust the OpenSource providers. Companies like ExpressVPN, Nord, Goose, CyperGhost, PrivateVPN and a host of others have proven track records and support mobile devices and other items that frankly are painful to setup and maintain using OpenSource products. All we are asking is to remove the restrictions on the RX8000 and other routers allowing your community the use of Third-Party VPN Providers.
  • I agree, with the way security is going it is imperative that the routers like Orbi can be setup as VPN clients to third party vendors like Express etc.  This should be an important feature for Net gear to add without users having to ask for it

  • I would love to see this happen on my Nighthawk AX12. I use ExpressVPN and it would be nice to just be able to integrate its use in to the router. Being one of the more recent router offerings from Netgear, I would have thought it would have been a sure thing for it to have support already. As of right now, it only supports PureVPN.

  • Completely agree that this should be a standard feature - I just purchased a Nighthawk RAX200 and I'm very disappointed to find out that it doesn't support the use of a third party VPN client. I created my own topic here and then stumbled upon this "idea", so I linked it in the comments for more coverage.

  • Still no update on this feature? Wow, makes me wish I stuck with ASUS

  • It's so poor from Netgear that they can't even be bothered supporting this feature on one of their supposed 'high end' devices. I think I'll be returning mine, it offers basically nothing other than a very slightly better signal, and a load of bloatware that, from what I can see, only offers a sales platform for Netgear to continuously try to sell me their security add on and market to me.
