Activate Telnet Permanently and Automatic Scheduled Reboot

I notice using 192.168.1.1/debug.htm that it is not possible to enable Telnet permanently..that is, once a reboot occurs, Telnet is again deactivated.  Can this option be enabled so that it "sticks" during a reboot. I understand from Technical support that Telnet is not favored at present but this tool is useful for performing certain tasks that would not be otherwise available...for example a simple script to reboot the router on a scheduled basis, among many other

Also, having the ability to have an automatic scheduled reboot option would be nice.  Many other routers have this and would be helpful to those of us who would like to reboot their router on a regular basis.
