Add The ability to separate the SSIDs for 2.4ghz and 5ghz
Please provide the ability to separate the SSIDs for the 2.4ghz and 5ghz WiFi bands. I need this functionality to help support my 4K media devices and some of the older 2.4ghz only devices.

For Orbi, that is how they thing is designed to work. That is what Mesh is all about.

If you need help on that front, it has nothing to do with feature requests, try the community.

I understand everything you are saying about the mesh.
I would like to reiterate my request to add the ability to separate the ssid for the 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz bands. This WOULD be helpful for netgear customers since the request has come up multiple times from multiple people. The Orbi has a dedicated band for communication between the router and satellites. This is very helpful for people wanting to blanket large homes or businesses in fast WiFi within having to run cat 5 cable everywhere for dedicated access points. We SHOULD be able to control the ssid for the separate bands IF we want to.
The ability to separate via telnet used to work and I was extremely happy, but sadly it no longer works after the Orbi reboots.
thanks for your comment.
- BigDGladAspirantWhy is Netgear so hesitant to allow separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz? I had to use telnet to accomplish this so my security devices would work on 2.4Ghz. But now with the latest release of firmware, my separate SSIDs went away and Orbi is assigning devices the way it wants. What the heck is Netgear thinking? Give the user who paid BIG BUCKS for this device the ability to assign separate SSIDs and assign what devices they want on each. Now that devices are being assigned randomly, my streaming TVs don't work right any more and everything is being assigned to 2.4Ghz. I am ready to TRASH this darn thing and look and look for a more friendly solution that I can control.
