it would seem that the support agent has indeed misled me as this was the link they posted to me to post my request.
My Internet is accessed by VDSL and this router was recommended to me and bought new in the last 6 months, I was not aware it was 5 year old model.
I realise I could use a cable modem my internet / phone provider does not have decent cabling where I live to offer higher speeds than VDSL unless I pay for Cable
