Additional Dynamic DNS Services

Please add the option to enter a custom / advanced dynamic DNS service on the D7000 and other nighthawk class routers. I'd rather not be handcuffed to the two partnered commercial / sponsored services that the firmware is currently restricted to.

On my current router I have this facility which allows me to provide updates direct to my domain registrar. I am looking for the same capability in the next router I purchase. As it stands this rules out the D7000.

  • Dnsomatic ddns service urgently required please add asap to netgear d7000

  • Another vote for DNS-O-MATIC as using this free service I can update multiple alternative DDNS providers...

    Thanks

  • I use easydns to run my dns for multiple domains. It has a ddns service. I don't want to create another account somewhere to manage.

  • Wow! Two years to complete the review. What was the outcome?

  • One more vote for https://www.dnsomatic.com or http://freedns.afraid.org or custom URL.

Some very important features which are absent in official firmware (weak DDNS, user defined DNS server for LAN) is the big reason to install OpenWRT or migrate to Microtik devices, sorry...

    P.S. NO-IP service is a piece of sh..t now.

  • Bump, this would be really helpful. We shouldn't be forced to use a paid service when dns providers like domains.google.com offer the same service for free when you have a domain name with them.
