I was looking at purchasing the LBR20 - ORBI LTE TRI-BAND WIFI ROUTER. This device uses the 4G LTE from your wireless/cellular provider to distribute internet throughout your home. Prior to mak8ng the purchase, I reached out to AT&T to understand what type of data plan would be available for the device. To my surprise they informed me that the only plan available was a 10GB data plan for $50 per month. Now this is silly as this device is advertised as a whole home router and suggests video gaming, movies, etc. should be run on it and specifies AT&T as one of the providers. 10 GB of data will cover a few days of regular home usage, let alone someone binge watching movies or now doing remote school learning. They will run through 10GB in a day. Unfortunately, I live in a rural area where AT&T is the only carrier with a quality signal. That said, I am surprised that Netgear did not work with the wireless carriers to devise better data plans for this device. I would advise them to take their clout and negotiating ability to the providers to secure better data plan availability/ pricing. This way the device could be used as intended to support a whole home. Additionally, I would recommend that Netgear post info about available plans on their site with this product to assist their customers in making an informed purchase. I hope action is taken and new data plans become available to properly support this device as I would like to purchase and install it in my home.
