Firmware/software for Meural to play from SD card

I have 2 Meural Canvas II units. I love their display. 

However, I am astounded that it does not appear possible to play directly from an SD card. 

There is only 4GB of internal memory, and not all of that is available to the user. 

Use of an SD card is almost mandatory with such a small memory.

I just purchased a smaller (16 inch) digital frame on Amazon, for only $150. 

It works great, had 32GB of internal memory, AND it will play directly from an SD card. 

I cannot believe that Netgear engineers, in a few hours, could not make the necessary changes to firmware and/or software to all these much more expensive units to equal that of this other one. 

There are numerous threads on the Community pages about dissatisfaction with the firmware/software/interfaces. 

You need to take a hard look at this, or an otherwise wonderful product will not last. People will not recommend it to their friends. At this point, I cannot. 

And I just noticed that in the labels on the right side of this page, which I MUST enter, there is no label for Meural. Or firmware/software. This is not an App issue. 

This is frustrating.
