I just upgraded from an AC1900 router (R7000) to the RS700 and I really love the coverage and speeds and ease of use. However, a number of necessary, older devices now no longer seem to connect. It’s frustrating. I used Smart Connect and one of the old routers SSIDs to make it easy for all devices to reconnect. But the WPA3 that appears as a MUST HAVE under the SmartConnect feature seems to be limiting backward compatibility with older devices that don’t have WPA3 compatibility. I’m now trying to make that happen manually, but it means I have to create 3 separate wifi SSIDs to do it. I really liked the SmartConnect functionality, but if it comes with limits, it’s a Pro feature that just became a Con on an expensive upgrade.
Please, Netgear. Maybe try fixing the WPA2 + WPA3 mix mode interdiction?

Would be good if WPA2 only was a option on the main network. Hopefully NG can do this.
