Focus on Optimization and Software/Firmware improvement
It seems that Netgear is primarily concerned with creating the newest and fastest routers that are totally unnecessary at this time. Most people haven't even switched over to wireless AC and you've already made an AD router. Cool. That will be useful in 2-3 years. The Orbi routers and mesh systems are great but I'd really like to see Netgear hunker down and focus on what I mentioned in the title. It's not glamorous or exciting and it won't get the shareholders excited, but it's critical nonetheless. The genie software is atrocious and firmware/software updates are always welcome. Focus on optimizing current technology rather than pushing future tech for which there is no market currently.

It makes sense that updating and maintaining existing equipment is in the best interests of already purchased devices.
What doesn't fit is newer developments in technology and (yes) profits. I have an old WNDR3400v2. It works! It'sdi\ual band,it's not
MU-Mimo, It's not the fastest "gamer router" (I only have 30MBconnection), it isn't all the newest bells and whistles of AC devices.
It's still a solid connection except for a firewall which I still haven't figured out if I need it.
The BIG question is, "Do I NEED all the best and newest functions that have been dreamed up and developed"?
Yes, I'm not suggesting to not develop new stuff but please give us the updates needed for those of us that don't need the
new stuff.
