So I'm planning on getting a new wireless router soon and I think I have chosen to stick with the Nighthawk X4s. I've done research on some others from the likes of Asus and TP-Link.
In choosing the router, I looked at the GUI/mobile apps that are also offered from each company. It would be a nice addition if the iOS app in particular, get a new redesign to reflect the aesthetics of an iOS 9/10 app. The current app still looks like it's using design language of iOS 6 from years ago. I compared to the Asus Router App and their app looks modern and sleek. It would be nice if the Netgear Genie gets the same treatment considering that Netgear has some of the best routers to date.

That's anoher reason not to use Apple products!
But Genie interface should be rebuilt from scratch!

firesamue Gee no kidding management got super lazy and dopn't want to hear us and they think thanks to their holly procedure they are going to solve every thing!
While a simple solution would be to listen to us and make better products that suits us and make us happy!
- aalexandrebeta yeah I just got a nighthawk X4s and I'm sure I'll be satisfied with how the router itself works, it'll be a bummer to know that I have a not so pleasing to the eye mobile app to manage the router. Hopefully they are working on a redesign to bring it up to date with iOS 9/10.
The Genie app is crap regardless of whether you use Apple or Android. The app needs to have a new design and more features.

We have improved genie app look and feel and continuing to work on updated offering for revamping the design language. Up app (recently launched) has dramatically new look and feel and will continue to add even more functionality over period of time.

Nighthawk app (and Orbi app) are completely redesigned with much more usable functionality than genie app.
The genie app was a good idea but really messy and Nighthawk app is too primitive for me.
