Let us choose which unit base/satellite each device connects to.

The sysytem keeps trying to jam everything onto the Orbi base unit. Even when it shows in the app as only having one bar signal strength. Items that are two feet away from the satellite opposite side from the direction of the base and still connects to the base. Then my daughters Macbook that is on the third floor connects to the satellite which is on the first floor when the base is between the two on the second floor?

I am sure someone is testing phase had to have brought this up.

I don't care that you want to assign them automatically, obviously they need to get connected and you can choose that however you want, but I as the user should be able to then pick and choose what I want. It's NOT all about you and that you know best, because obviously... you don't.

Please fix this!

  • I love my Orbi.  Here's a feature suggestion though (pretty much same as above).  I have a base and two satellites.  I have a device that I want to connect to the base (it's physically closer), but it occasionally connects to one of the satellites for some unknown reason.  When it does - its connectivity is spotty, and it doesn't work quite right.  It's a Wemo light switch wired into the wall, so it's definitely not moving around.  The suggestion is to allow the access control to deny it on certain satellites - or some alternate way of forcing it to connect to which router/satellite I specify.
