My router is a R6200v2 used with a Extender EX6200, connected to a Cable internet connection. The router setup is simple enough and with the extender set in Fastlane Technology the network is solid indeed. My use of the Genie Software comes only from needing to use and control the Parental Control options having an underage son in the house. His in room computer and cellphone are the only rigs being monitored and controlled with the use of the Genie Software and Parental Controls. The two laptops and my wifes rig as well as mine plus our server is not. They are simply password protected.
After setup of the router and extender so that the Media Server is not used and simply disabled trough those devices, the Genie software wants to AUTO Load the built-in Server to run once it loads as my rig is booted (on 24hours a day anyway). I'd like to see an option to set inside the Genie Software tha disables the Media Server all together, since anything media that I want to play via the net is easy enough to play on a USB Stick or the number of DVD/Blue Ray players we have around the house.
Just an idea, so to stop the need to go into the Genie Software everytime that I reboot to turn the thing off.
