Need to add parental controls to RAX80 Router

Given that the Data Sheet for the RAX80 says:

"Once set up, you can use the intuitive dashboard to pause the Internet on your connected devices, run a quick Internet speed test, setup smart parental controls and much more!"

this seems to be mis-selling in a big way. Grounds even for asking for your money back.

I too just discovered this issue. By going into the router UI Advanced tab > Setup > Internet Setup, you can change the primary and secondary DNS addresses to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 respectively. Those are the OpenDNS servers. You would have to manage your filters through the OpenDNS dashboard web page for you account. It's certainly annoying to have to do this. I'm tempted to return the router and get an older model.

I was told at BestBuy the parental controls were one of the key features of what made the RAX80 a great buy.  Without Circle support and having to switch the DNS as listed in the other comment, this highly priced router for home use looks much less attractive, regardless of technical features.  Please add Circle support quickly!

Absolutely need parental controls or circle....Im not to pleased ....i have 4 kids and bought this as an upgrade.....im not savvy enough to play with dns so im forced to just unplug the router to shut things off?  please add this back in

Until Netgear gets its act together on the apps, use the desktop genie to handle parental controls.

Pick the one for your operating system.

Netgear genie app doesn't work with RAX80...they make you use the nighthawk app which is much more limited. 

As the country got locked out and schools switched to online, it is critical now to have parental control (Circle). Please add this option

dumped the RAX80 and bought an orbi.

So that everyone knows, the functionality needs to be enabled in the RAX settings for the Circle app to find the device.
