Other mesh networks such as Eero and soon Luma support hard wiring your sattelites. I think its extremely important Netgear Orbi does the same. Especially for those of us who can.
Like petey said, it is not something competitors have an advantage by having. Because anyone who did their research would know if they needed ethernet backhaul they did not need a eero, onhub, orbi etc... They would have known to buy a decent AP and not one of these consumer mesh products (not knocking these products but that is not what they are designed for, there are better options for that).
Where orbi excels is right where it needs to excel, namely with its wifi backhaul. This is the niche these products fill, not the I already have cat drops everywhere niche.
If you really have cat drops and the need for ethernet backhaul do yourself a favor and go look at some decent APs from somebody and not one of these mesh systems, and get what you need.
