If they move the power supply to a internal design they could use the same power cord to link the units together without any need a of lan cable or wifi link let the wiring in the home do the job Netgear has power lan adaptors build one into each Orbi problem solved and would let them add a second 5ghz band as well.
Before you say it I know Apple uses just a normal power cord to power its units but still a good idea. Just have to shield the power supply rf noise from the router but can be done with a cage around the power supply and still allow air flow.
