Other mesh networks such as Eero and soon Luma support hard wiring your sattelites. I think its extremely important Netgear Orbi does the same. Especially for those of us who can.

I would love, love to have the Satellites connect back to the router via hard wiring. I have a new, tall, long skinny house, with minimal structured wiring. My cable modem is down in a small basement. The Satellites are in the upper floors. I want to have my Sat's connect back to the router via the wiring I do have, so I can place them at each of the two end of the house. This would allow me to leverage the benefits of Orbi wifi, namely seamless wifi coverage for all my mobile devices no matter where in the house we roam. I placed them in the idea locations for wifi coverge, but then the connections back to the router were flakey. I moved the Sattelites closer to the center of the house to get the router connection to be more stable, but now I have less wifi coverage for my devices

This has been addressed, a few pages back someone posted this link:

I myself have not tried this yet. I will soon.- Joe_BeerAspirant
Thanks MightyThor! I could not find anything in the official NetGear lit that said they support this - thought it odd that they would not though.

I have confirmed it works. See the below image, you will see that under Connection Type under the listing for your satellites when it is wired.

Why isn’t this idea marked Implemented?
Life gets in the way of technology updates sometimes....
I don't know how that gets done. Anyone know? Is this done by moderators? Or should I be able to do this?
I apprecaite everyone's input and contributions to this thread.Thank you.

One end of my house does not have Ethernet. The other end does. I bought Orbi as a Mesh solution so I don't have to switch WiFi networks when I move to different rooms. I would love to be able to plug in the Satellite that sits right next to an ethernet outlet.

This is supposedly working now, but it didn't for me. Once I connected satellite wired only got like 5Mb/s. Tried all the tricks and router settings mentioned by people in these forums still doesn't work. This should be so dead simple, plug in and it works period. Of course seems nothing is ever easy with Netgear!
