Orbi DHCP should serve IPs across entire subnet

The Orbi dhcp options only allow configuration of the last octet of the IP address range, even when the subnet is larger than Class C. We should be able to configure the dhcp range across the entire subnet. For example, I would like to be able to set my dhcp range to 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.1.250 with a subnet mask of 255.255.254.0 (subnet includes 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.1.254). That way I can use the first 100 IPs for static reservations, and still have a large enough dhcp range to accommodate a growing smart home.

  • Same here! I use 10.0.86.x for DHCP and 10.0.87.x for static. I was shocked to see if wouldn't let you change the range. This makes no sense Netgear! I have over 100 IoT devices connected around the house and add more on a frequent basis. I mean in today's world it's entirely possible to use up 252 ip addresses.
