Although automatic firmware updates should probably be the default, there should be a method (easily accessible in the firmware settings) to disable firmware auto-updates.
The foregoing would allow those experiencing issues with the latest firmware to remain on an earlier version.

This last update pushed to Orbi routers - 4.6.3.16 has caused a LOT of turmoil and unnecessary issues drastically impacting productivity across the world.
Netgear has some explaining to do and until satisfied - sales will diminish across the board as many of us are recommending people steer away from Netgear anything. - leonzetTutor
This is ridiculous. I am about to switch back to Asus system again.
Whoever decided not putting an option to disable auto upgrade should be fired immediately!
