Feature request: Make it possible for satellites to connect to each in order to extend coverage in tall or long houses.
Background:
I live in a four story town house and have bought the Orbi system in order to get better wifi on the top floor. The base is placed in the center of the ground floor which gives great coverage for the ground floor and the first floor. The satellite is placed on the second floor and extend the wifi to the third floor. On the fourth floor the is no wifi coverage:( I would love to buy a second satellite and place it on the third floor but I understand that this is not possible because it has to be within the reach of the base... I would love if Netgear could add the option for a "true mesh". This is also what I expected when I bought it because it is marketed as a mesh network.

- cue003Apprentice+1 on true mesh please. Need Orbi > satellite > satellite type of setup

This is absolutely a must. Without this ability, the 3 piece kit is basically worthless.

What if you place base unit on the secound floor and the satelite on the thrid floor would the area covered do the hole house?
If you had a second satelite it could cover the area not covered by the other two maybe.
Not sure of what your home walls and floors are made of and the way wifi will get along with them.
If the Orbi supported a lan cable between the base and satelite one could get closer to a true mesh setup or at lease cover most of the multi story home.

I absolutely need Orbi > Satellite > Satellite type of setup, too. Orbi can not be called a true Mesh system without possibility for this kind of setup, in my opinion.

The Orbi may not like a bussines class mesh system but the home mesh system on the market are getting so what near it using wifi using wifi as a linking means between master and slave wired links are better but that's life.

I was sold on a Mesh system as well and would love it to be added to the next firmware update.

Like others, I bought this unit thinking is was a true mesh and that I could 'daisy-chain' the satellites. I live in a 100ft long old stone house with 2ft thick stone walls. The satellite cable comes to one end of the house so that is where I need to have the router. At the moment the signal using the router and satellite get to about 60% of the way along the ground and first floor, and I'd love to be able to add another satellite thereafter!
- I AGREE! Orbi needs the ability for a mesh network. Internet providers usually don't run a wire into the middle of your house to install you internet. One end of the house is where your connection comes in at and this is where your router will need to be placed. If you do not have the ability to mesh your satellites together. I currently have spots in my upstairs part of my house due to router being in basement and only being able to put a satellite on my 1st floor with no satellite on my second floor. I agree with this TOPIC and please look into adding the ability for satellites to communicate with other satellites and make this a true mesh network.
False advertising. MESH NETWORK even in your URL on your own website?????

Got to add to this. I thought it was true mesh. Now need to rethink everything. was about to order 3 more satellites . Now see that it only supports 3 satellites TOTAL and then in a star back to hub. Not what was portrayed at all.
