ORBI USB HD ReadyShare

For he high cost of the ORBI line, why on Earth haven't you implemented ReadyShare on the USB port to accept an external hard drive?! Completely ridiculous! It's great otherwise, but there are many great systems from other vendors that do include external USB drive support. Make this right netgear!!!

  • Yeah, my other router with network drive support took a dump. I just saw the USB plug on the back and ASSUMED that an USB drive would be ReadyShare compatible especially being a higher end model. Was blown away that it only supports ReadyShare printers. Our printers handle that wirelessly on their own. Please add support to network drives. I'm out $500 and plug/unplug my externl drive to ech computer now. Like I did 20 years ago. Otherwise I love the Orbi mesh network

  • External USB SSD connection is critical.  I bought the Orbi AC3000 (RBK50) because it claimed a USB port, which now appears as useless for ANY function.  I had a 1TB SSD on my WRT1300ACS which worked wonders.  Now very disappointed with my dreamy 'Ass'umption. Hopefully, the inner electronics are there for such an implementation via future firmware update.  Otherwise the Orbi/Satelite coverage/function is excellent, albeit I wish it was a true mesh, and not just a marketing hype of using the fake terminology "mesh".
