R7000 QoS needs to differentiate using more than just MAC address...

My R7000 Nighthawk router allocates QoS priority based on MAC address, which means this feature cannot differentiate between devices attached to a WNCE4004 as that passes its own MAC address for all attached devices - and since that is mainly media devices that makes QoS pretty useless.

BTW both devices ARE running the latest firmware versions.

So I can't allocate different QoS levels to the devices attached to an attached WNCE4004 - an Apple TV, a YouView STB and a Panasonic audio system.

I notice that some Apps on my iPhone CAN differentiate between the devices attached to the WNCE4004 (using Bonjour?).

Alternatively I notice that my EX6200 passes a modified MAC address - first 3 bytes of the EX6200 MAC address plus the last 3 bytes of the attached device.

I strongly suggest that this ability to differentiate between devices attached to the WNCE4004 is included into future firmware upgrades of:

1) ALL Netgear routers that implement QoS; and

2) ALL Netgear media focussed devices similar to, and including, the WNCE4004.
