rax80

Just another thread on the rax80 and another customer who thought it was wise to upgrade from a perfectly working xr500 with dumaos to the nightmare of in house netgear firmware. I hope netgear will finally fix the constant connectivity issues and dropped connections on network devices now that I can’t return the item back to bestbuy.

  • Same boat here. I have to keep re-installing my R8500 since the RAX80 and any firmware I try is completely unstable and useless.  It's a shame.  The throughput is what I'm looking for but it is totally unuseable as-is with current firmware revisions (tried the last 3 and the newest yesterday)

  • Love that the RAX80 has as wide and strong coverage as it does.   Hate that it occasionally forgets the admin password, the SSID password, and my "secret" answers (it seems to remember the questions).

I bought the RAX80 too, to upgrade to the best range for my small apartment.

Unfortunately the range is worse than my previous router.

Why does Netgear not respond to these posts? It would be great to hear from them.

  • Just got my RAX80 and not getting the speeds wired or Wifi on both networks. I was trying out the another router from another company and it worked pretty good between 400-500 on wifi. I have a gig connection with a Netgear CM1000. Should I send the RAX 80 back? On hold for 45mins with support but no one is pickig up..sucks Any ideas? Thanks
