Remove popup for circle in admin page

Having to close the pop-up for Circle whenever I login to the admin page for my router is very annoying and inconsiderate (see attached image of pop-up). This pop-up is annoying for users who have no need for parental controls (i.e are not parents). It would be appreciated if this could be disabled in an update to the router or at least removed from future Netgear products. Thank you!

  • I too am having this issue. Several of the Developers I work with also noted this happened to them after a particular firmware update. Right now I'm looking for an older version that doesnt have this constant annoyance. Its a shame we have to resort to back-rev'ing to get rid of something that should have a check-box or radio-button to disable. Big issue is getting a firmware that doesnt have this idiotic nuisance, that may have security issues. Its a catch-22, but we'll make sure we 100% blame Netgear for any breach problems.

Netgear folks, fix this ASAP. Our routers arent a free pop-up advertisment tool for you. We paid good money for these, and dont expect to be annoyed in this way. I'd rather sell mine on ebay, and pick up one of your competitors products that had the common sense not to do things like this.

  • For any interested, if you happen to have a R6700v3 router, any firmware past V1.0.4.84_10.0.58 seems to have the annoyance.

  • The Circle pop up on my Orbi router RBK53S on FW 2.5.1.8 has broken my ability to manage the router!
When I go to the web admin page for the router, I get the pop-up "selling" the Circle parental controls feature (which I do not want!).

If I hit the "X" to close the pop up, I get an error message from the router admin page and cannot manage the router!  I never anticipated having a router that would be broken by advertising served from its admin page...  Very frustrating!

  • The error "400 Bad request" (which I encountered upon dismissing the "Circle advertising pop up" on my Orbi Admin Home page) has its own Community support message threads (where others have encountered the 400 Bad Request error in various admin page circumstances).  These threads tend to suggest clearing browser cache and/or trying a different browser... (where these steps alone haven't helped me thus far) and/or resetting the Orbi system devices to their factory defaults and setting up anew... perhaps w/ a firmware update (a pending effort for my situation...)

  • I resolved the issue w/ my Orbi RBK53S Router (displaying "400 Bad Request" after closin g "Circle pop up ad" on the Admin web page) by reverting router & sattelites to factory defaults (using paper clip to press reset buttons on the back of each until orange light flashed) and then re-setting up the system, updating firmware on the router and sattelites to latest version, and updating my Orbi Android app to latest version.
