I try to be vigilant about my security, from protecting my SS# to changing my passwords regularity. Therefore, the R7900 Nighthawk Router really needs the option of locking out anyone who attempts to gain access to the admin account after a specified number of failed attempts. Considering this option exists for the router's Pin (which I have yet to use,) I am astounded that to date, Netgear engineers have not considered adding the same functionality to the admin's password. Adding this layer of security would make the Nighthawk the perfect router.

We already have this feature implemented. The user gets '401 Authorization' failure after three failed attempt. The router also has admin password recovery. https://kb.netgear.com/20027/Configuring-router-administrative-password-recovery

Abhay. I enabled password recovery. Now, if I test it by purposely entering the incorrect password three times, how long (estimated) will it to reset my password? Meaning, is the password recover process instant, or is there a dela? I ask this because I have prior experience with password recovery on some large commercial sites that either failed or took a few days to resolve. In two instances, I did not receive a link to reset my password.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

The password recovery process instant - it is documented in

You do need access to Serial Number of the router.
