The usb 2 port

I believe the usb2 port on a home networking devices has served it's purpose well in the past and now  it is time replace all the future usb 2 ports with a faster port standard as the storage device market has moved away from usb2 too usb3 based speeds as a new standard for now. The usb 2 based devices still will work on usb 3 port and data transfer rates would be faster on networks with usb 3 devices. Just as the 10/100mb lan ports give way to the 1gb lan port the usb should follow suit on all new networking devices.

There are enough storage and printer devices that still use USB 2.0 protocol and are happy with those speeds. Our Nighthawk routers always feature at least one USB 3.0 port suitable for super-speed storage applications.
