I want to extend wireless LAN from the main building to an outbuilding some 500 feet away in dense woods on the other side of a highway. The outbuilding equipment would be powered off batteries, solar recharge. What do I need?
If I wanted to cover a half mile radius from the main building, what do I need?

Hi,
With regards to range, with line of sight connectivity, the WND930 can connect over 1/2 a mile without any problem.

Re: Is there a model for long-range wireless ?
Hi,
You can explore the NETGEAR outdoor WND930 access point. This Access Point is IP67 (hardened in rough conditions) with both internal and external antennas.
This AP also supports point to point connectivity with another WND930 on the other end.
Furthemore, this AP can be powered by Power Over Ethernet as well as supply power to a connected device.
Good luck,
Thomas

This outdoor AP can be managed by one of netgear controllers (7500, 7600, 9500) or can be run as a standalone.
