wireless access point WNDAP360 and new type AP's

hi there,

We have 20 WNDAP360's the admin is gone and nobody knows the passwords.
Reset it all is not wat we want.

we are thinking of buying a new AP make that the main AP and connect the remaining old AP's on that AP.
Is that possible ? And what netgear AP do we need then ?

thanxs

@kloenie_nlm,

Welcome to our community! 🙂

This may only work if the WNDAP360s are assigned as a DHCP client and not assigned with a static IP. So what you want to do here is to just add this fully configured to a new AP is that correct? If the APs are working just fine, why do you need a new AP?

thanxs for the reply,

Nobody has the login/password for the AP's.

So the only thing i can do is reset te old AP's and configure them on a brand new one.

We want new one's because i want to expand the range to other locations.

@kloenie_nl,

Thank you for your response. Yes, we can only do a hard reset on all the APs that you have in order for you to reconfigure it. May I know if it is connected to a wireless controller or it is working as a standalone? Might as well update the firmware to its latest version after resetting it.

that whas what we tought..

But what new AP can we buy to work with the old AP's ?
i think they need the same Firmware.
but which one can i buy.

Then i buy 2 new ones, let them work together, get a old AP, reset that one, let it work with the new setting and then badabing badaboom 😄

@kloenie_nl,

If the APs are working as standalone, then you can use any AP that you want. I suggest, take a look at our AP selector to find out which AP is suited for your needs.
