Trying to connect a printer. Asking for a PIN number. Saying it's usually 8 digits on the router. There is no such number on the router. What can I do? I am a novice.

Try connecting the printer to the WiFI SSID name and password.
PIN maybe the WPS process which you press the WPS button on the modem to begin a pairing process using a pin number.
Contact the printer Mfr for help and support information regarding there product.- Stinger60Aspirant
Connected the printer to the router using the router's password provided. That worked. Printer messaged it recognized and connected to the router. The problem is when I try to connect my computer to the printer. It asks for a PIN number. Nothing is labeled PIN number on the router.
I printed the configuration for the HP printer. It has a line showing WI-FI Direct Password. It's 8 digits long. I tried it. Message back is 'no internet, secured'.
Somehow I did get connected in my numerous tries. I printed 3 pages. Haven't a clue as to why it worked.
As a side note, I had the same problem (No Internet) messaged when trying to connect my VIZIO TV. Called them. They walked me through some steps and told me to turn off DHCP. That worked. The printer configuration indicates Configuration Source is DHCP. Haven't tried to that. Scared to.
