C7800 ON COMCAST GIGABIT INTERNET WILL NOT DOWNLOAD MORE THAN 150MBS ON WIRED CONNECTION
like many others I have a Netgear Nighthawk X4S C7800 cable modem/router. I recently upgraded my Comcast internet connection so I can take advantage of the gigabit speed. After working with a Comcast technician for several frustrating hours, his last comment is the issue is the netgear cable modem\router. I reset the modem back to factory defaults, I removed all splitters, and I still get the poor download speeds. I noticed that the 32 downstream channels are locked but only 4 of the upstream channels are locked. Any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks

Be sure to test a different wired PC to compare.
I would try a different modem. like a CM1000 or CM1100, see if these result in faster download speeds.
Possible faulty or bad C7800 as well. Return the C7800 or contact NG support and ask about an RMA.

I would also contact Comcast and have them reprovision it. I've gotten the wrong provisioning before. And it was on the C7800. Sometimes its something simple.
Do you have a screen snip of your cable connection page?
What site are you using for speedtesting?
Are you hardwired in for speedtesting?
What device are you using? have you tried a different one?
