Helllo, I have a CAX30 that I purchased from Costo (and also exchanged as of yesterday), that when I complete my network setup in the nighthawk app with a wifi network name change, disables my in...

I also cannot remote into my hardwired PC from a wireless connected device, so it is affecting the internal network as well.

What is the sample SSID name your changing too? I would avoid using any special characters.
Try a simple SSID name like CAX30.
Use a simple password as well for now. Simple 8 to 10 alpha only character password.
Make sure Smart Connect is enabled.
Let us know your results.

posted sample network name in original post.
This isn't a 100 dollar modem. setting a network as cax30 doesn't solve any problems.
also, I already posted about the default netgear name working.
If this modem can't handle a "." in the name, then it needs to be returned. This is amateur stuff.

Also this network name previously worked without issue. Infact it was named this until last week when it randomly reset and then network name reverted back to orginal netgearxx name and now name changing the network name does not work.
This issue is now continuing on 2nd modem.

Asked about what custom SSID name you are trying to set.
Some special characters are not supported in the SSID name. I know space in between words works. A (.) may not be. I never use any special characters in the SSID name. So if your wanting to use a period in the SSID name then either remove it or find different modem that supports having a (.) in the SSID name.
Try "my network name" instead with spaces in between.
Good Luck. - corbintxOct 18, 2022Aspirant
Hi,
I also stated that I previously had a name that included "." on this exact modem.
It's also 2022. A modem that doesn't support a "." in the name is probably not worth buying.
Thank you for your input though.
