CAX30

I just tried to upgrade my internet speed with Optimum. I was told this modem was not compatible with 1 GIG speed capability. Can anyone help as when I bought this modem (nighthawk ax2700 cax30) it shows speeds up to 2.7 gbps.

    Does it work with gigabit? Yes. 

    They might not certify it because it only has 1 gig ports on it and a lot of ISP's over provision. 

    Xfinity for example likes to overprovision so their 1 gig plans actually pull 1.2 gig. And so they can say devices with only 1 gig ports "aren't compatible' as they won't max out the speed. 

    Not saying its compatible but ISP's are great at using the fine print to push you to one of their own devices.
