CAX80 Ethernet Ports
I have a CAX80 modem serving as the internet connection to 2 WAX630 Access Points.
I the original wiring from my old (Optimum) modem sent an ethernet out of the modem, into a TPLink TL-SG105 switch, which then sent the connection to the 2 access points.
I see that my CAX80 has 1 Multi Gig Port and 4 Aggregate Ethernet Ports.
I read in the CAX80 manual: To avoid causing broadcast looping, which can shut down your network, do not connect an unmanaged switch to Ethernet ports 1 and 2 on your router.
My question is: now that my modem has multiple ethernet ports, am I better off connecting each WAX630 directly to the modem aggregate ports, or should I send the Multi Gig Port to the switch, and then use the switch to split that across the access points?

Re: CAX80 Ethernet Ports
The CAX80 is a gateway (router+modem device) and for local connections, it operates as a switch. (ie, local traffic is switched, not routed)
