CM1000 modem comcast gigabit - slow speed
Got comcast gigabit service. comcast replaced outside and inside lines and tested the signal strength which they told me was good - in fact in the sweet spot. I haven't been able to get more than 3...

Was a resolution to this issue ever found? I have the EXACT same problem with Xfinity and the CM1000. I am starting to think it;s the modem and am likely to return it and instead just use the Xfinity supplied modem (which is NOT what I want to do)

For me, the only resolution was to use the Comcast modem. I even tried the Arris Surfboard Gigabit modem and got the same result. The problem is definitely somewhere on Comcast’s provisioning end.

The best I've been able to get is 470 mbs at firmware version V3.01.04. Just curious what you were getting with the Netgear and Arris?

Looking at https://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/customerinfo I find under my 'download speed' 789.2 mbps shows as 'My plan speed' not 1000 mbps. Not sure if this points to some issue.

Yeah, mine shows 986.50 as "plan speed" but I'm not evern getting that.

The best speed I reached with the CM1000 was 450, and with the ARRIS it was 500. I had one Comcast tech tell me that Comact's servers would only support around 450 and that was the best I could expect. I didn't buy that. Why sell gigabit service if you never break 500? However, when the second tech came out and hooked up the Comcast modem, I consistently got speeds of 800-940. I hate using Comcast's modem, but for now, its the only way I can get the speeds I am paying for.

Its no doubt comcast cause they want you to use their modem and pay per month
