CM1000 slow 90MBS on gigabit service
I have installed a CM1000 modem on a Cox network about 2 months ago. I have the cox gigabit service. The best download speeds I ahve been able to achieve is 90 Mbs. The techs have been out quite a few times and measured the speeds directly off the cable which they say is fine near 900mbs. However, when I hook my laptops directly into the modem the best speeds I get are 90mps. I have tried a Dell 5999 inspiron laptop and several macbooks. All show slower speeds directly out of the modem. Cox has not been helpful in getting the right speeds as I own the modem and they just provide the speed to the end of the cable. If anyone has any ideas would appreciate them... I'm hoping someone knows the answer to this...

Have the techs hooked directly to the modem and tested speeds?
Also, have you tried different cat5e or great cables?
Also the dell 5999 is only a 10/100mbps laptop. it doesn't have gigabit. You need to ensure the device you're testing on is a gigabit device and can actually hit gigabit speeds. Old devices might be labled gigabit but not be able to max out a connection due to performance issues.
