CM1200 only dlink router cannot access modem or internet
If I connect into port 1 my PC, roku tv they both can get internet access through the modem.
Only my dlink router being in AP or left as a router cannot see nor get an internet connection.
I've reset it every which way no dice. If that same router is connected to the cable modem from my isp it works.

What led you to believe that you can connect multiple devices
directly to the CM1200?https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/2041988

Not a very detailed description of that device. Model number?

Not a very detailed description of that device. Maker? Model
number?
You need one modem and one router. The CM1200 is a modem. If you
configure your (unspecified) "my dlink router" as a full-function router
(_not_ as a wireless access point), then it could be your router.Knowing nothing about your (unspecified) "the cable modem from my
isp", I can't be sure, but it might be a modem+router. That would be
consistent with your using your (unspecified) "my dlink router" as a
WAP with it.> I've reset it every which way no dice. [...]
None of that is a useful description of anything.

The CM modem is a modem only, there is NO router built in on this model modem. So you need to set your D-Link router to ROUTER mode. Connect it to the WAN Port #1 of the modem and power cycle the modem OFF for 30 seconds then back ON.
