CM700 Intermittent Pack Loss and High Latency

Over the past few weeks I've been experiencing intermittent packet loss or high latency when receiving packets. As a result, in games I get micro stutters and sometimes slingshot. Streaming videos is consistent from my experience. I only use LAN connections with CAT6 cables in all of these tests.

 

Below are some attached pictures of my pings to Google and modem reports downstream/upstream levels.

 

Here are some of the steps I have tested:

- While issue is occurring, I pinged my modem, router, and Google DNS. I get pack drops or high latency on Google DNS, about every 10th packet, but no issues at the router/modem level. This lead me to believe that the issue is somewhere on Comcast's side.

- Checked power levels and I believe my upstream power is low.

- Tested three different coax cable plugs in my house. All have the same issue.

- Removed splitter from Comcast box. Now only one line feeding into the house. Tested power levels again and the upstream power is still low but the downstream power improved (see screenshot attached).

- Called Comcast technician out to test line. They did all of their remote resets and then sent a technician out. They said that the cabling in my house may be the problem because people typically build houses on the cheap for the coax lines. They redid all the connections at the box at the road, box at my house, and cable plugging into my wall. They also tested the grounding cable.
- After the technician left, I looked at the cable in the wall and compared it to my own coax cables. It seemed less thick than mine and lower quality. I went into the attic to see if I could replace it but it seems like it will be near impossible to do myself.

 

 

Before I go through the trouble of replacing all the cabling in my house or hiring someone to do it. Are there any suggestions for other steps I can take for troubleshooting this issue? Should I continue to hound Comcast?

Update: Checked the cable in the wall and it is an RG6 cable. I decided to try running my own spare cable from the garage to the modem (50ft RG6). Issues are still occurring. Here's the cable that I am using: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-CL2-Rated-Coaxial-TV-Cable/dp/B01DN7NRXS/

Contact your ISP and have them check the signal levels and quality UP to the modem. 

Be sure there are not coax cable line splitters in between the modem and ISP service box.
