Computer cannot detect wireless cable gateway cg3000d
I have cox network with a Cg3000d wireless cable gateway, 2 in one. I have it wired and use it for wireless as well. My map shows my pc going to switch to modem to gateway to network. REALLY? I did...

That listing all looks perfectly normal to me, the PC is allocated an IP address by the router, in this case 192.168.0.5, note not 162.198.0.5 as per your post 3 which I assume was a typo?
DHCP is not guaranteed to allocate the same IP address each time to the same computer / device, especially if you have factory reset the router as you said you did in post 3.
So basically I see no issues with your router connection, and the only outstanding question is the network map. If you still have issues there could you please post a screen grab?

The router has a built-in four port switch, that’s probably what the OS is interpreting it as switch plus modem/gateway. So is your issue only that the OS does not display as you would expect, is everything else working OK otherwise?

No, I seem to be getting two separaate things going on. For some reason, I have one hook up for the default name and one for the new name I administered to the router. So I have two networks, one wants to be home and one wants to be public. I did a factory restore yesterday, and oit doesn't seem to recognize my computer as a pc, as the Ipv4 address is 162.198.0.5, which is the same ip address it assigned my pc. pinging fails to this ip address. my normal ip address on pc was 192.168.0.7. I'm pretty messed up
