How to diable router portion of N600 cable modem router??

Hi there, I own N600 WiFi cable modem router, model C3700. It is two in one product. It is cable model and in the same time wi-fi router. I have new router that is much more powerfull and I would like to use it with current N600 cable modem that I have. So my question is can I disable router portion of the modem/router that I have and connect new router that I've just got? Thank you so much

    I changed router mode to NO and once I clicked apply this change modem would automatically reboot. One the modem is rebooted and when I go to check router mode settings neither YES or NO is selected. I would say NO should be selected. Am I doint this right?
    I was still able to connect new router to N600 cable modem and new router is connected to internet but gives me a message that it doesn't have any DNS server addresses and might have trouble connecting to internet. How can I resolve this problem?

    reboot n600 with new router connected ...should be n600 LAN PORT to new router WAN port still no DNS use Google DNS....... 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers enter them in internet setup..... Use These DNS Servers Primary DNS Secondary DNS
